The Commission’s Final Report contained over 36 recommendations about improvements that should be undertaken by federal agencies, Congress, and the offshore drilling industry. The recommendations are fully discussed in the Commission’s final report and are excerpted in a shorter “Recommendations” report.
The Oil Spill Commission Action Project is monitoring the success government and industry is having in implementing these recommendations. We invite other observers to help us in this process.
We have consolidated the recommendations into seven categories:
- Safety and Environmental Protection
- Spill Response and Containment
- Impacts and Restoration
- Ensuring Adequate Resources
- Frontier Areas—The Arctic
If you would like to comment on how well you think a recommendation is or is not being implemented, please use the comment form.
